Saturday and the 50th Cape Vincent French Festival is in full swing. And we really swing! The morning began with french pastries served at the firehouse, then the Music Makers big band kicks off after the opening ceremonies, and we dance the whole set. This is followed by the parade, at least an hour of floats and bands and civic groups. Napoleon sat his horse near the front. Bands twirled flags and batons and played music. Pipers piped, Miss Thousand Islands, Miss Cape Vincent, Miss Adirondack and several others waved from convertibles.

More music through the afternoon, and we toured the extensive array of crafter's tents, peddling local wine, maple syrup, wooden carvings, paintings, cheese, and burgers. We sampled but weren't enticed to buy.
At dusk fireworks began. The adjacent park filled up with townspeople and the boaters invited friends on board. They put on an excellent show, and made use of the long breakwater for launching some pyrotechnics in an elongated format.
More live music into the evening, as several bars and two outdoor venues hosted bands.
