Day 80, 8.15.18, near Camp Dudley

We get an early start on this Wednesday, with a steady wind from the south. We tack into it until weather radar says a big thunderstorm is less than an hour away. We find shelter in Partridge Cove with four other bigger sailboats (we're often the smallest cruising sailboat) where we swim and await the storm, which fizzles to nothing.

Back on the lake, where the forecast is for winds from the west. Eclipse enjoys a good reach with an east wind, which backs around to the north. West? Didn't happen. Another thunderstorm looms, so about five o'clock we anchor for the evening south of Westport, NY. This time the storm keeps it's promise with rain and lightening in the distance. Pasta for dinner, followed by Scrabble.

Approaching the Cliffs of Insanity on Lake Champlain

Little green froggy showed up in the cockpit of Eclipse one morning.  Not entirely sure how he made it in....

This cute little puffy cloud turned into a raging thunderstorm in the span of about an hour.

The Storm!
